Letter from the Presidents

Dear Parents,

January is so far off to a good start.  As we write this today it is almost 50 degrees and very spring like outside.

The next MSPA Monthly Meeting is Tuesday, January 14, 8:30 am in the CEMS Conference Room across from the main office.  If you have never joined us at a meeting we look forward to meeting you.  Meetings last about 1 hour, we review our upcoming programs, volunteer needs, and vote on Teacher Mini-grants. This is also an opportunity to hear from you, what would you like the MSPA to do, how you think we can be most effective for our students and families?

Thursday, January 16th is the Hannaford Grocery Card Deadline.  Fill out this form and drop it off, along with your check, to the MS to the main office.

THIS WEEK'S SCHOOL HAPPENINGS:
  • Spelling Bee: The CEMS school spelling bee will be held Thursday, January 16 at 3 pm in the LLC.

There are just three more weeks in the December / January CLYNK Challenge!  The amounts increased but the top four spots are still dominated by three 5th grade teams and Chase / Briggs taking first!

6th grade team Chase / Briggs stayed on top with $53.40 while the three 5th grade teams stayed in the next three spots with Arbour / Newton moving into 2nd with $47.15, Doane / Geikie fell to 3rd with $42.65 and Karlonas / Whaley stayed in 4th with $35.35.

Remember the CLYNK for Schools Recycling Challenge will begin January 21, 2020 and will run through March 20, 2020. For every $1 raised during the challenge period, our school will get an additional $.50 plus the opportunity to compete for additional cash prizes. Cape Elizabeth is hopeful to take one of the top spots again this year after just missing it last year.

Thank you for your support! Sheri Bragg.
Please contact Sheri if you are interested in learning how the Clynk Program is run, she is looking for a Clynk Chair Shadow(s) for the remainder of this year as she prepares to move on to the HS.

Hannaford Grocery Card Fundraiser Update :  Just four months into the school year and we've already raised $940.00 - just by grocery shopping!   Fill out this form and drop it off, along with your check, to the MS or Pond Cove front office and get a Hannaford grocery card for the full amount of your check.   Hannaford gives our school 5% back of our monthly order - you choose the grade your 5% gets allocated to.  The money STAYS with that class for future outdoor programming.   You may also choose to send your 5% to teacher grants.   Next due date is January 16th!

For questions please email Laura Allen at allenlaura207@gmail.com.
