Noelle Webster designs funky footwear for Brooks Running

After stumbling across a few design projects from her time at CEHS, Noelle Webster decided to email one of her former teachers to share what she has been up to since graduating in 2012.

Ms. Nilsen's Digital Design class was Noelle's first introduction to design and the Adobe Creative Suite.   "Your (Ms. Nilsen) thoughtful approach to teaching and design got me hooked!"

Noelle went on to take all the art classes CEHS had to offer:  Photography, Art Fundamentals, Advanced Photography, Advanced Art Studio, Yearbook and Ceramics as well as a summer course through MFA/Tufts University.

After graduating from CEHS, Noelle attended Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).   At RISD, Noelle got to lead the running team and create a textile thesis around running sneakers & the Maine coastline.  A few years later, she is now a Color and Trend Designer for Brooks Running in Seattle.  “I am now designing some funky footwear at Brooks Running, with your (Ms. Nilsen’s) design fundamentals still empowering my day-to-day work.  So many anchor points!”

Noelle is pictured here with her funky designs which are launching soon!

Noelle will be a guest in Ms. Nilsen’s Digital Design II class February 11.  Ms. Nilsen is planning to open the class to other students interested in the arts and design.
