Please congratulate the following students for the outstanding work that led the Capers -- representing the State of Maine -- to place 8th out of 46 teams at the National High School Mock Trial Competition in Hartford: (shown from left to right immediately after being awarded the trophy) Lilia Membrino, Lauren Cutter, Sammi Vaughan, Marianna Godfrey, Grace Roberts, Libby Palanza, Kinnon McGrath, Emelie Jarquin Manegold, Will Pearson, and Colby Mayer. Grace Roberts also was honored for being one of 10 top performing attorneys in the competition.

Placing  8th is a big deal for a team from a small state, and no Maine team has ever ranked in the top 10 before. This year, Maine--the Capers--outranked every school in the Northeast, plus California and many other mock trial powerhouse states. It was wonderful to see them perform and share their excitement at placing in the top 10. Thank you for allowing them to leave school to compete.
