At schools across Maine, Civil Rights Teams meet to get our communities thinking and talking about issues related to race and skin color, national origin and ancestry, religion, disabilities, gender (including gender identity and expression) and sexual orientation. At CEMS, the Civil Rights Team (CRT) has worked on a wide range of projects including organizing No Name Calling Week, collecting donations for recent immigrants and refugees relocated to Portland, and celebrating the state-wide Day of Welcome.
