Students in both Freshman Academy classes at Cape Elizabeth High School have completed a unique, intergenerational project that connects them with their community's history. As part of the curriculum, students engaged in one-page interviews, profiling senior citizens who have proudly called Cape Elizabeth their home.
The initiative provided students with an invaluable opportunity to interact directly with the people who shaped their town, gathering personal stories, insights, and historical perspectives often missed in textbooks. The completed one-page profiles serve as snapshots of local life and history, capturing diverse experiences from Cape Elizabeth residents.

The success of this meaningful project is thanks to the collaborative effort and creative vision of Nate Carpenter and Jane Anderson, who are recognized for creating this educational opportunity for the Freshman Academy students. Their work has fostered a greater sense of community and provided students with hands-on experience in research, interviewing, and narrative writing.
