Throughout this school year, our staff has been learning about an instructional framework called The New Art and Science of Teaching (NASOT), developed by education researcher Dr. Robert J. Marzano. In Cape Elizabeth, this work has been adapted into the Cape Elizabeth Learning Framework (CELF). During each professional development day, staff members have spent time studying and practicing the research-based instructional strategies included in this framework.
On Friday, March 13, educators from across Cape Elizabeth Schools participated in a professional learning session with special guest Dr. Tina Boogren from Marzano Resources. Dr. Boogren led us in exploring key aspects of the NASOT framework, with a particular focus on building strong relationships with students and communicating high expectations.
Dr. Boogren's humor, enthusiasm, and expertise made the day both energizing and meaningful. We are grateful for opportunities like this to learn together as colleagues and continue strengthening our practice for the benefit of our students.
