Professional artist Sarah Collins and the members of the CEHS Jewelry & Metalsmithing Club have not been deterred by the pandemic!
Here, students work on various projects. Everyone is eager to learn and excited to get started on making rings, bracelets and earrings as soon as they can!

We asked Sarah "What's different with Covid?"
- This year we have to have all the desks separated.
- Cleaning tools afterwards and cleaning desks and chairs.
- Everyone wearing masks and respirators.
The first week we filled the classroom! Thankfully, over the years I have collected and purchased enough hand tools for students, we have enough for our first project.
The first pendant project covers many of the basic skills the students will need for future projects. They learn how to use a saw to cut the metal ( copper, brass and later silver) out (piercing) file, drill, sand, solder and polish.
The class runs 9 weeks on Mondays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. through the end of December. Meet in the Art Room.
There will be a Spring session for 9 weeks starting after winter break. For more information, see Ms. Gross.
