Cape Elizabeth Esports

Both League of Legends and Smash teams played on Wednesday to qualify for MPA State Finals next week. Our League of Legends team faced the #1 seed and undefeated Maine School of Mathematics and Science Penguins. While our team fought hard, the Penguins won 2-0. I want to congratulate the LoL team on a great growth season and their amazing final game of the regular season to make playoffs. We will see all the players this fall.

Our Smash team faced #2 seed Ellsworth Eagles Smash. Alex Brooking was able to get some stock (think lives) off of the other player during the first best of three set, but The Eagles were able to grab the set 2-0. Nathaniel Healey took the second set solidly 0-2 against The Eagles. This left the match score 1-1. Rohan Yadav faced off in the deciding set and grabbed the first game. The second game was taken by the Eagles. The final game played like a movie. Rohan was down two of his three stock  while The eagles player was only down one. Rohan was able to bring them to their last stock with both players having 0% damage. A back and forth battle ended with both players above 100% damage and it was a well placed hit by Rohan to take The Eagles last stock. Match ends Ellsworth 1 - 2 Cape Elizabeth.

The Smash team will be playing Narraguagus High School's NHS Knights of Smash on Wednesday May 4th at 4pm. We will once again be in the Achievement Center and are planning to stream the match on our YouTube channel. Please cheer them on!
